You and I have been given the gift of a new year… Every day we will have opportunities to influence and impact others for God. The question is, will we be ready. To a great degree, the answer is found in how we live our lives. Check out this eye-opening passage in Ephesians 5:15-17:
"Look carefully then how you walk! Live purposefully and worthily and accurately, not as the unwise and witless, but as wise (sensible, intelligent people), making the very most of the time [buying up each opportunity], because the days are evil. Therefore do not be vague and thoughtless and foolish, but understanding and firmly grasping what the will of the Lord is." (Amplified)
There are two basic ways you can live your life: by chance or on purpose. To live life by chance means to go with the flow...like a piece of driftwood in the river of the world's system. Whatever happens, happens. Decisions are made by feelings like rolling the dice. The flipside is living life on purpose. This means intentionally, deliberately taking action. Your decisions are by design and have meaning.
WHICH WAY ARE YOU LIVING? God has a purpose and plan for your life! He loves you intensely...YES He loves YOU! In spite of what others have said, regardless of the mess ups you've made, God loves YOU! He wants to walk with you and talk with you and empower you to live on purpose. God says "Forget about what's happened; don't keep going over old history. Be alert, be present. I'm about to do something brand-new. It's bursting out! Don't you see it? There it is! I'm making a road through the desert, rivers in the badlands" (Isaiah 43:18-19 The Message).
